Differences between heat and temperature

1. It is a form of energy which gives us sensation of warmth. It is a measure of degree of hotness or coldness of body.
2. It is the cause of change in temperature. It is the effect of heat.
3. It is measured by calorimeter. It is measured by thermometer.
4. Its SI unit is Joule. Its SI unit is Kelvin and also measured in Celsius, Fahrenheit.
5. It flows from a hot body to a cold body. It gives the direction of flow of heat.
6. It is a total amount of internal energy of body. It is proportional to average kinetic energy of the molecules of body.
7. It is denoted by Q. It is denoted by T.
8. It has ability to do work. It can only be used to measure the degree of heat.
9.  It depends on mass. It does not depend on mass.
